I’m Kelton O’Connell, a student journalist at Bloomington High School North in Indiana. Welcome to my portfolio!

I’ve been involved with student media at BHSN since ninth grade. I started my high school journalism career executive producing the projects of the advanced video production class. Sophomore year I joined the yearbook staff, and due to an unexpected situation, became editor-in-chief halfway through the year. This year, I am editing what will be my third yearbook with our staff. I also occasionally write news articles for our school’s online newspaper.

Outside of North, I am an intern and freelance reporter for The B Square Bulletin, an online-only news outlet in Bloomington. My primary beat is K-12 education, but I also sometimes cover arts and culture and other areas of local government.
